Teardrops and the Holding Pattern (2020) — Robert Scott Thompson — Electronic Music
This track is so massive sounding, my favorite I’ve heard yet!

Teardrops and the Holding Pattern was composed at the start of the first lock-down for COVID-19. Thus the title. Technically, the title is about landing large aircraft, and how they have to fly in a holding pattern and then move through the “teardrop” – known as a “teardrop entry” – to touchdown on the runway. In my concept the title has more to do with ideas surrounding isolation, love, and loss as the major effects of the pandemic.
